Job summary

LMI Finishing, Inc. is seeking a Supervisor – Production in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This role involves managing the daily operations of assembly and ensuring safety and quality within the department. You will lead initiatives for process improvements and mentor staff through effective coaching and training.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a Supervisor – Production. This position is directly responsible for all aspects of managing an assembly, distribution, machining, or processing department with a specific focus on safety, quality, and throughput. The supervisor oversees all day‑to‑day activities, creates and promotes a performance‑based culture through departmental metrics and daily production meetings, and leads continuous improvement initiatives, specification review and LEAN projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reviews production orders and schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications, and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
  • Oversees the development and monitors work teams to ensure the efficient and effective accomplishment of the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Prepares production schedules and coordinates daily activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications and customer requirements.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational issues to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Reviews production performance data to measure efficiency and goal achievement and to identify opportunities for cost reduction and/or improvement.
  • Develops and/or revises standard operational and working practices to ensure compliance with standard procedures.
  • Assists employees in career progression and learning through effective communications, coaching, training and development, and providing experiential opportunities.
  • Responsible for establishing, implementing, and documenting a training program for all manufacturing personnel.
  • Encourages and promotes cross‑training between departments.
  • Encourages subordinates to strive for operational excellence by continually challenging old methods or ways of thinking and taking responsible risks to maximize results; serves as a role model in innovative thinking and process improvement.
  • Formulates performance standards in relation to Sonaca North America behaviors; provides ongoing feedback; conducts evaluations; and initiates personnel actions for subordinates.
  • Participates in the Review of Customer Specifications and the creation of Specification Specific Process Codes for assigned manufacturing area.
  • Participates in and drives Continuous Improvement projects within assigned manufacturing area and measures them for effectiveness.
  • Ensures all departmental employees know and follow the appropriate Quality Assurance Procedures (QAPs). Conducts periodic "self‑audits" of the department to track compliance, informs the Quality Department of needed changes, and works with them to develop and implement revised or new procedures.
  • Participates in and drives the Corrective Action Process in the Processing department and assists other departments as required.
  • Ensures manufacturing controls are in place for compliance to all regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with the corporate policies, initiatives and EH&S requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills & Knowledge
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations in assembly, machining or processing.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other operations software.

Education & Experience
  • 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Machining experience preferred.
  • BA/BS degree with 3–5 years of experience preferred.
