Job summary

Actalent seeks a 1st Shift Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing activities in Three Rivers, MI. You will plan, schedule, set up, and run production operations while guiding material dispersal and ensuring smooth workflow.

This is a hands-on role (70–80% on the floor) with exposure to assembly, machining, and welding in an automotive setting; leadership, problem-solving, and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive manufacturing environment preferred (2+ years).
• General understanding of assembly or machining processes.
• Leadership or supervision experience is required.
• High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
• Hands-on approach; comfortable on the production floor, not just at a desk.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production processes by observing volumes and recommending improvements.
• Monitor progress, expedite material flow and resolve issues to keep production flowing.
• Improve workflow by eliminating stoppages and analyzing delays.
• Record production metrics with daily shift reports and yields.
• Communicate status, requirements, and problems to the next shift.

Job description

1st Shift Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor will play a pivotal role in overseeing production, while collaborating with manufacturing and production leaders. This role involves planning, scheduling, setting up, and running manufacturing activities, as well as leading the dispersal and distribution of materials. Primarily hands on, 70%-80% of the time on the production floor, the rest in office work.

• exposure to various manufacturing processes - assembly, machining, and welding in automotive environment

Hours

~7am - 3:30pm

• Typical work week is 45-50 hours - with opportunity to work as much OT as desired
• Time and a half for everything over 40 hours worked

Responsibilities

• Maintain manufacturing production processes by observing process volumes and recommending improvements.
• Monitor progress, expedite material flow and work results, and resolve problems to ensure smooth production.
• Improve manufacturing process workflow by eliminating stoppages and analyzing delays.
• Record manufacturing production by completing daily shift reports and calculating yields and recoveries.
• Communicate production status, requirements, and problems to the next shift to maintain process flow.
• Maintain a working relationship with the union by complying with the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
• Ensure a safe, secure, and healthy manufacturing process environment by adhering to organizational standards and legal regulations.
• Oversee manufacturing outcomes by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, and counseling associates.
• Plan, monitor, and appraise job contributions, adhering to policies and procedures.

Essential Skills

• Experience working in an automotive manufacturing environment, preferably 2+ years

• Interest in working on the manufacturing floor, hands on, rather than a desk

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Three Rivers, MI.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
