Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee receiving, storage, warehousing, and picking operations in our SC facility. You will lead manufacturing employees, coordinate with vendors and internal departments, and drive safety, quality, and productivity while supporting the company’s Operational Excellence focus areas.

The role requires at least 1 year of related experience or completion of a development program, a minimum age of 18, and legal work authorization

Qualifications

• Must have at least one year of work experience in manufacturing, distribution, or operations or completed a Sherwin-Williams Development Program in an Operations function.
• Minimum age 18 and legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee receiving, shipping, warehousing, and picking operations.
• Implement operational policies and procedures and ensure safe use of equipment.
• Monitor quality and productivity to meet service and cost objectives.
• Plan daily work schedule coordinating with outside vendors and internal departments.
• Manage employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action.
• Conduct regular workforce meetings to enhance BMS and Operational Excellence.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects.

Job description

This position is an essential part of Sherwin's manufacturing team. They ensure the safe, efficient, and effective operations of manufacturing, filling, and warehouse departments in our manufacturing facility. They provide direct management of manufacturing employees and leads and are accountable for fostering a team environment through effective and appropriate communication. They are responsible for maintaining all standards in accordance with safety, quality, inventory, and productivity levels as well as providing leadership to meet facility goals in the 5 focus areas of Operational Excellence including Safety, Quality, People, Service and Cost.

Additional Information:

Shift: 5:45 PM - 6:00 AM, 2 days on, 2 days off, every other Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans.

Job duties include contact with other employees and access to confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and business relationships.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
• Must have at least one (1) year of work experience in a manufacturing, distribution, operations function or have completed a Sherwin-Williams Development Program in an Operations function

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have a bachelor's degree or higher in Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Operations, or Supply Chain
• Have at least one (1) year of experience in leadership role(s), supervising others, or leading teams
• Have completed formal training in and/or have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.
• Have at least three (3) years of experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility
• Have prior work experience using timekeeping and/or production control systems
