Smithfield Packaged Meats Corp is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee the entire production process, ensuring safety, quality, and operational efficiency across the plant.
You will lead safety and compliance initiatives, enforce food safety plans, train staff on SOPs, track yields and efficiency, and drive continuous improvement. The role requires strong communication, leadership, and the ability to work long hours with travel up to 5% in a fast‑paced food processing environment.

Perform daily inspections, lead safety audits, champion ergonomic initiatives, and ensure adherence to HACCP and USDA regulations.
Maintain product quality by enforcing Food Safety and Food Quality plans, training employees on safe operating procedures, and ensuring tasks meet product specifications.
Track and analyze production yields, efficiencies, and variances, collaborating with Managers to improve workflows and reduce downtime.
Direct and guide hourly production employees, lead monthly line meetings, walk the production floor daily, and maintain alignment on safety, quality, and production goals.
Analyze key product performance metrics, identify improvement areas, and recommend changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain high quality standards.
The plant environment includes wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, work near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. Typical noise in the production area is moderate but can be loud. The role may require lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision with ability to adjust focus. Frequent standing, walking, use of hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and speaking or hearing are necessary.
