POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist production manager with all Ogden Human operational functions. Supervise production workers during shift in producing, labeling and packaging of Ogden Human products according to production demands/schedules and specifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Identify and resolve issues promptly, reporting them to the Production Manager.
  • Read, comprehend, and execute Master Manufacturing Records (MMR), Narrations, and instructions to ensure accurate operational success.
  • Supervise operators, blenders, and packagers during your shift, and effectively communicate production turnover to operational teams.
  • Train and supervise production workers in all aspects of the Ogden Human manufacturing and cleanup processes.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Safety, Quality, Manufacturing, Training, Cleaning and other procedures.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of facility equipment.
  • Verify the accuracy of all forms and record-keeping materials.
  • Collaborate with maintenance personnel to address equipment needs and coordinate these needs with production scheduling using the CMMS system.
  • Participate in troubleshooting situations and develop corrective action plans.
  • Provide suggestions for continuous improvement, lean processing applications, and assist in their implementation.
  • Appropriately manage first aid scenarios according to Balchem EHS policies.
  • Maintain and assist others in meeting regulatory requirements such as OSHA, FDA, cGMP at all times.
  • Guide employees within a collaborative environment to encourage ongoing development and enhancement of their skills.
  • Enforce policies related to attendance, punctuality, performance, and follow corrective action policies as needed.
  • Engage in self-involvement, team involvement, and implementation of KPI initiatives driven by the business.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including supervisory experience.
  • Must be responsible, maintain a positive work attitude, be safety-minded, quality-minded, supportive of management, and company-oriented.
  • Strong communication skills, high proficiency in math and reading, and high mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications or comparable software is required.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resources Planning, Customer Resource Management, or comparable software is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Position may require prolonged walking/standing, reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting.
  • Frequently lifting 60 lbs. of raw and finished good material.
  • Exposure to powder and heavy equipment in a loud manufacturing environment.
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to powder mineral products, cleaning chemicals, restricted movement, dirty conditions, hazardous materials, and lifting and carrying heavy objects.
  • Compliance with the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard (29CFR 1910.134) is required, including annual fit testing (clean-shaven requirement) and medical clearance (respirator medical certification).
  • When required to wear a respirator, it must be worn as fit tested (clean-shaven).
