Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods is seeking a seasoned leader for a direct manufacturing role. You will oversee daily operations, ensure GMP and safety standards, coach a growing team, and drive performance metrics within a fast-paced plant environment in Kentucky.

Strong HACCP knowledge and cross-functional collaboration are essential. You will manage timekeeping, safety, training, and employee relations while delivering accurate shift reporting and maintaining high-quality output.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of leadership experience in food manufacturing.
  • Associated degree highly desired.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and Health and Safety regulations.
  • Passion for coaching people, building teams and improving performance.
  • Able to bend, squat and lift up to 50 lb.
  • Stand 6–8 hours per day in cold and warm environments.
  • Detail oriented and organized; able to prioritize multiple requests.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with conflict management and team-building abilities.
  • Experience with tough conversations and counseling employees; resolving conflicts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems; SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to GMP, sanitation and process procedures; reference SOPs.
  • Check timekeeping records daily; manage time off requests.
  • Communicate expectations with the team and uphold accountability.
  • Comply with food safety standards; partner with cross-functional teams (FSQA, Safety, Maintenance, HR).
  • Ensure adherence to policies; collaborate with Management and HR on disciplinary actions.
  • Foster positive employee relations; listen to concerns and provide timely responses.
  • Monitor productivity; provide coaching and feedback to staff.
  • Organize workflow; ensure team members understand duties and tasks.
  • Maintain safety focus; ensure compliance with GMP, SOP policies.
  • Produce daily shift reports and ensure accurate paperwork and sign-offs.
  • Report equipment issues to Shift Managers and Maintenance.
  • Train new employees and provide coaching for continued development.

Reason for vacancy: Existing Headcount

Compensation:$62,000 – $91,000 USD base pay annually plus annual short-term incentive
The above compensation reflects the target compensation for the position at the time of posting. The base salary offered may vary based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, education, training, job- related knowledge, and other organizational requirements. For part-time roles, salaries are adjusted according to scheduled hours.In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in Maple Leaf’s annual short-term incentive plan.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices following all sanitation and process procedures and guidelines and reference SOP’s where applicable
  • Check timekeeping records daily to ensure accuracy and manages team’s time off requests
  • Communicate expectations with the team regularly and holds them accountable
  • Complies with established food safety standards and partners respectfully with all cross-functional teams (FSQA, Safety, Maintenance, and HR)
  • Ensures adherence to legal and Company policies and procedures and works with Management and HR to undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises
  • Foster positive employee relations by treating all employees with respect, listen to their concerns and provide a timely response where needed

  • Organize workflow and ensures that team members understand their duties or delegated tasks
  • Operate with a focus on safety first and ensures all employees follow the company’s safety, GMP, SOP policies

What You’ll Bring:
