Job summary

Novolex is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee a shift in our Minnesota operation. You will manage daily production activities, supervise 40+ employees, coordinate with scheduling, and lead hiring and training efforts. You will also drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and adherence to safety programs while achieving production goals and controlling costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in business or engineering.
• At least 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work well in group settings.
• Ability to handle conflict maturely and consistently.
• Good computer skills; SAP experience preferred.

• Address complaints and resolve problems.
• Gather and report production data daily.
• Support and improve Quality initiatives to meet plant goals.
• Ensure safety programs are implemented, reviewed and revised as needed.

Job Description

Production Supervisor Job Duties:

• Manage, direct and coordinate all activities related to a production shift to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality
• Typically supervises 40 plus employees
• Coordinate with Scheduler to ensure daily production requirements are achieved
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring & training employees
• Planning, assigning & directing work
• Appraising performance
• Rewarding & disciplining employees
• Addressing complaints & resolving problems
• Ensure all production data is gathered and reported correctly on a daily basis
• Support & improve upon Quality initiatives designed to meet plant goals
• Ensures safety programs are implemented effectively, reviewed regularly and revised as necessary

Job Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree preferred (business, engineering)
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience
• Supervisory experience preferred
