Job summary

Benjamin Moore & Co. in Mesquite, TX seeks an experienced site supervisor to drive production efficiency and safety. You will coach leads, solve staffing and output issues, and ensure adherence to quality standards.

The role requires 2+ years supervising in manufacturing or distribution, an associate degree (bachelor preferred), and proficiency with MS Office and SAP. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives and align shift plans with demand.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years supervisor/manager experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Competency utilizing MS Office Excel, Outlook, Word, SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Be a decision maker and problem solver for the site. Will be required to make critical decisions to maximize efficiency and manpower and to troubleshoot issues as they occur.
  • Actively coaches and provides feedback to leads to support the ongoing growth and development of their leadership competencies.
  • Supervise and provide assistance to department leads daily to support production activities.
  • Manages employee issues such as attendance monitoring, performance goals and resolves minor disputes.
  • Works with department leads to regularly assess employee performance and take corrective action as needed.
  • Engaging their teams to cultivate improvement and efficiency suggestions.
  • Has fundamental knowledge of the department operations to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements.
  • Write, review, and update work instructions to support consistent production performance.
  • Regularly audits work of team to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Evaluate and adjust staffing levels, shift schedules, and OT requirements as needed.
  • Trains and coaches on safety, quality, and work processes; upgrades skills via courses.
  • Enforces safety regulations and company policies; ensures safety equipment is used.
  • Utilizes 5S, Lean and Continuous Improvement to sustain process improvements.
  • Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste per regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

2nd Shift

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide assistance to department leads daily to support production activities.
  • Manages employee issues such as attendance monitoring, performance goals and resolves minor disputes. Ensures plant management is notified of any employee conduct requiring corrective or disciplinary action.
  • Works with department leads to regularly assess employee performance. Supervisor has responsibility for issuing appropriate corrective action. Shall include assessment of capabilities, results delivered, opportunities for improvement and development, and action plans to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Engaging their teams to cultivate improvement and efficiency suggestions.
  • Has fundamental knowledge of the department operations so can act as resource to troubleshoot issues, remove roadblocks, and identify/implement improvements.
  • Write, review, and update work instructions to support consistent production performance.
  • Regularly audits work of team to ensure it meets expectations for safety, quality, and productivity. Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of the department goals and activities.
  • Evaluate and adjust staffing levels, shift schedules, and OT requirements as needed to meet production demand requirements.
  • Trains and coaches on appropriate methods regarding safety, quality, and work processes, etc. Upgrades own skills by attending courses, seminars, etc.
  • Ensures all safety, environmental and regulatory guidelines and rules are known and followed; all required safety equipment is available and used as prescribed. Promptly addresses issues related to safety and actively coaches and reinforces safety expectations with team.
  • Communicate and enforce safety regulations and company policies to employees.
  • Utilizes 5S, Lean and Continuous Improvement methodology to identify, implement, and sustain process improvements.
  • Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste per regulations as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous supervisor/manager experience (2+ years) in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Competency and confidence utilizing applicable computerized systems such as MS Office Excel, Outlook, Word, SAP.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, bending/twisting of neck and waist, squatting and kneeling.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects from floor, conveyor, vehicle, table, or overhead location.
  • Climbing/descending stairs.
  • Occasional lifting of 10-75 lbs. (1 hour) throughout shift.
Pay Range

USD $86,900.00 - USD $111,300.00 /Yr.
