Job summary

IPEX is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the night shift at our Lynchburg, Virginia plant, reporting to the Production Manager. You will drive safety, quality, and productivity while guiding employee development and continuous improvement initiatives.

This role runs on a 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM Continental schedule. Responsibilities include supervising daily production activities, optimizing labor, equipment, and workflow, and ensuring ISO compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years' experience in manufacturing or distribution, with supervisory experience.
• Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Injection Molding including process, materials, tooling, and equipment.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise night shift production to meet safety, quality, efficiency and output targets.
• Execute production schedules by optimizing labor resources, equipment utilization, and workflow.
• Lead shift transition meetings and communicate priorities, performance expectations, and operational updates.
• Monitor production metrics, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions to resolve issues and improve results.
• Troubleshoot operational challenges and coordinate with Maintenance, Process Mgmt, and other support teams to minimize downtime.
• Analyze production reports, including output, scrap, downtime, and labor performance, to support data-driven decision-making.

Job Summary

As the Production Supervisor, you will lead night shift manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives while supporting employee development and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position will be on Night Shift from 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM on a Continental schedule.

Principal Responsibilities

• Supervise daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and output targets are achieved
• Execute production schedules by optimizing labor resources, equipment utilization, and workflow
• Lead shift transition meetings and communicate priorities, performance expectations, and operational updates
• Monitor production metrics, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions to resolve issues and improve results
• Troubleshoot operational challenges and coordinate with Maintenance, Process Management, and other support teams to minimize downtime
• Analyze production reports, including output, scrap, downtime, and labor performance, to support data-driven decision-making
• Manage departmental resources, materials, and expenditures while supporting budget and cost-control initiatives
• Maintain compliance with quality standards, ISO requirements, and operational procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and audit readiness
• Coach, mentor, and develop production employees through performance management, training, and cross-functional skill development
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and training activities to build a capable and engaged workforce
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
• Champion health, safety, and environmental programs by ensuring compliance with company policies, supporting incident investigations, and promoting safe work practices
• Lead 5S, standard work, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing safety, quality, productivity, and sustainability

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory/lead capacity
• Lean manufacturing experience is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of Injection Molding including process, raw materials, tooling, and equipment is a huge asset
• Excellent leadership/coaching, written & verbal communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
• A solid understanding of computers including Microsoft Office applications
