Job summary

Brenntag in the United States seeks a Production Manager to oversee operational production and warehousing activities in the Henderson facility. You will assume responsibility in the supervisor's absence and coordinate department priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in management or technical field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 4 years of front-line supervisory experience in a chemical or related industry, preferred.
  • Ability to interface well with customers and understand company policies.
  • Computer skills sufficient to efficiently perform the job requirements.
  • Ability to understand and carry out process descriptions applicable to the job.
  • Oral and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of the Production Manager's duties in his absence.
  • Supervise specific department(s) directly.
  • Review safety, production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to identify non-conformities.
  • Develop and implement operating methods to improve product quality.
  • Adjust production schedules and priorities based on safety audits, customer demands, and equipment issues.
  • Assist departments when the supervisor is absent or on vacation.
  • Monitor and coordinate disposition of non-conforming material.
  • Coordinate hazardous waste functions.
  • Monitor regulatory postings.
  • Participate in customer plant visits.
  • Maintain and oversee training records.
  • Monitor and train production personnel per the Operations Regulatory & Training Manual.
  • Participate in monthly safety inspections and meetings.
  • Assist with development of Process Descriptions and training requirements.

Job description

Ensure the execution of operational production and warehousing processes for department.

Job Description:
  • Perform all aspects of the Production Manager's duties in his absence.
  • Assume authority for the direct supervision of specific department(s).
  • Assist in reviews and analysis of safety, production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of non-conformity with product specifications, or operating or production problems.
  • Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate production/operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Assist in revising production schedules and priorities as a result of safety audits, customer demands, equipment failure, and operating problems.
  • Assist each production department when the Departmental Supervisor goes on vacation or is absent.
  • Monitor and coordinate disposition of non-conforming material.
  • Coordinate hazardous waste functions.
  • Monitor and control Regulatory postings.
  • Participate in customer plant visits.
  • Responsible for maintenance of and overseeing training records.
  • Responsible for monitoring and training production personnel as required by the BMS Operations Regulatory & Training Manual.
  • Participate in monthly safety inspections and safety meetings.
  • Assist production personnel in the development of Process Descriptions and subsequent training requirements.
Your Profile
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor'sdegree in management or technical field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 4 years of front-line supervisory experience in a chemical or related industry, preferred
  • Thorough understanding of the importance of customer service and the ability to work cooperatively with other branches,departments, and personnel in meeting customer needs.
  • Ability to interface well with customers.
  • Computer skills sufficient to efficiently perform the job requirements
  • Ability to understand and comply with all company policies and procedures pertinent to the operation of the Branch.
  • Ability to understand and carry out process descriptions applicable to the job.
  • Ability to interface and communicate well. (Oral and written).
