Job summary

GTI Energy is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations in Goodyear, AZ. You will supervise hourly staff across mechanical assembly, fabrication, welding, and structural assembly, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery of customer orders.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing with 2+ years of leadership, and experience in contract manufacturing or complex industrial environments.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; further manufacturing/eEngineering degree preferred.
  • 5+ years manufacturing experience with 2+ years leading teams.
  • Experience in contract manufacturing or complex industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP and SAP preferred; strong communication and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet schedules safely and efficiently.
  • Supervise hourly employees across departments and coordinate resources.
  • Drive throughput, monitor labor, and address bottlenecks.
  • Partner with Quality, Planning, Materials, and Maintenance to meet delivery goals.
  • Promote safety and 5S, conduct toolbox talks and safety observations.
  • Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives.

Education

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the daily leadership of manufacturing operations within an assigned production area. This role directly supervises hourly production employees while partnering with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, Materials, Maintenance, and the Value Stream Manager to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time execution of customer demand.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader with experience supervising production teams in contract manufacturing or complex industrial manufacturing environments. This individual understands how to balance people, materials, equipment, and production schedules while continuously improving throughput, quality, and operational performance.

Responsibilities
Production Leadership
  • Lead daily manufacturing operations to ensure production schedules are achieved safely and efficiently.
  • Supervise hourly employees across assigned manufacturing departments.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, tooling, and materials to maximize productivity.
  • Conduct daily production meetings to communicate safety, quality, staffing and production priorities.
  • Monitor manufacturing performance and remove barriers impacting production.
  • Escalate production issues affecting customer deliveries.
Manufacturing Operations

Provide daily leadership within one or more manufacturing disciplines, including:

  • Mechanical Assembly
  • Metal Fabrication
  • Welding
  • Structural Assembly
  • Manufacturing Support Operations

Ensure production activities are aligned with production schedules and customer delivery requirements.

Throughput & Manufacturing Execution
  • Drive daily production throughput and schedule attainment.
  • Monitor labor utilization and staffing requirements.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with Materials Planning to resolve shortages.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Support efficient product flow throughout the manufacturing process.
Safety Leadership
  • Promote a culture where safety is the highest priority.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and GTI safety standards.
  • Conduct daily safety observations and toolbox talks.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas utilizing 5S principles.
Quality
  • Ensure products are manufactured to engineering specifications and quality standards.
  • Partner with Quality to reduce defects, scrap, and rework.
  • Verify manufacturing documentation and work instructions are followed.
  • Drive first-pass yield improvements.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions.
Team Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop hourly manufacturing employees.
  • Train new employees and support cross training initiatives.
  • Conduct performance discussions and provide continuous coaching.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and employee engagement.
  • Support attendance management and workforce planning.
Continuous Improvement

Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives including:

  • 5S
  • Standard Work
  • Visual Management
  • Kaizen Events
  • Waste Elimination
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Process Improvements

Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and throughput.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, or a related field preferred.

5+ years of manufacturing experience.

2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in Contract Manufacturing or complex industrial manufacturing.

Experience in one or more of the following:

  • Mechanical Assembly
  • Metal Fabrication
  • Welding
  • Industrial Equipment Manufacturing
  • Systems Integration
  • Understanding of production scheduling and manufacturing workflows.
  • Experience working with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality teams.
