Summary:

The Production Supervisor manages equipment, materials, and human resources to ensure optimal performance. They lead the shift's staff in applying procedures and work instructions to maximize safety, quality, production, housekeeping, and conduct.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor production equipment for peak performance.
  • Oversee personnel performance and adherence to procedures.
  • Manage on-the-job training.
  • Enforce standards for production, quality, material handling, and housekeeping.
  • Ensure timely application of process improvements.
  • Maintain records of labor, scrap, and finished parts to manage inventory.
  • Supervise 60+ employees, including training, planning, performance appraisal, and discipline.
  • Ensure daily production schedules and goals are met.
  • Oversee die setters for mold changes.
  • Provide a safe, healthy, and positive work environment; communicate effectively between management and staff.
  • Maintain part quality and respond to quality issues.
  • Adjust processes to meet standards and report issues to engineers or management.
  • Contribute to cost savings and process efficiency initiatives.
  • Manage mold changes, start-up and shutdown procedures, and minor troubleshooting.
  • Schedule and oversee equipment cleaning and maintenance.
  • Perform quality checks and assume responsibilities of Lead Technician as needed.
  • Engage in continuous learning related to supervision and manufacturing.
  • Ensure safety compliance and promote lean manufacturing practices.
  • Manage supervisory responsibilities and team coordination.
  • Participate in environmental safety and emergency response teams.
  • Ensure all safety and OSHA procedures are followed.
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Adhere to company policies and facilitate shift handoffs.
  • Manage overtime scheduling and die setter preparations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field; 2-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
