Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Supervise daily production operations within assigned department (Tray Pack, Debone, Processing, Whole Bird Packaging, Evisceration, etc.)
- Coordinate production schedules to meet customer demand.
- Monitor product quality and ensure adherence to customer specifications.
- Track production yields, labor utilization, efficiencies, and downtime.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and Total Quality Management (TQM) initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, USDA, OSHA, EEO, and company policies.
- Maintain production records and HACCP documentation.
- Work closely with Maintenance and Plant leadership to maximize equipment uptime.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, attendance, and line coverage.
- Train, coach, mentor, and develop 25-50 production employees.
- Conduct team meetings and ongoing employee training.
- Promote workplace safety and enforce safety procedures.
- Build positive working relationships with USDA inspectors and plant leadership.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and increased efficiencies.
Qualifications Needed
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in meat processing or food manufacturing.
- Strong background in poultry processing or food manufacturing operations.
- Experience with USDA, HACCP, and GMP compliance.
- Experience supervising production employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to improve production efficiencies, labor utilization, and product quality.
- Experience managing production schedules and staffing.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
