Job summary

Valtris Specialty Chemicals seeks a Production Supervisor to plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing activities ensuring safety, cost, quality and productivity adherence.

You will lead operations, enforce safety programs, manage SAP transactions, approve timecards, recruit and coach staff, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining ISO 9001 and RC14001 compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
• SAP experience required.
• Ability to work rotating four day by 12-hour shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to work with all management levels.
• Computer-literate; proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Direct operational or production activities.
• Lead safety processes and training (LOTO, confined space, line breaking).
• Ensure accountability in EH&S, housekeeping, quality and production standards.
• Record and analyze data, including SAP transactions; manage timecards.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding and employee development.
• Monitor procedures; drive continuous improvement and report incidents.
• Prepare production progress/status reports and maintain records.
• Coordinate with maintenance for equipment issues; resolve problems promptly.
• Order materials and equipment as needed and ensure compliance with policies.
• Support ISO 9001 and RC14001 requirements; adhere to safety policies.

Job Summary

The primary purpose ofthe Production Supervisor is to plan, direct, or coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with company requirements for safety, cost, quality, and productivity.

Essential Responsibilities

• Direct operational or production activities.
• Provide leadership, participate in, audit, and train/coach on all production related site safety processes, such as LOTO, Confined space entry, Line Breaking, etc.
• Ensure operator accountability in the areas of environmental, health, and safety, housekeeping, quality, and production standards.
• Record and analyze operational and production data, including SAP transactions.
• Review, adjust, and approve timecards for employees under your supervision.
• Assist with hiring personnel through screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
• Assist with employee development through performance feedback, evaluation, coaching.
• Monitor production procedures to ensure proper operation of the plant and continual improvement.
• Enter incident reports and conduct investigations.
• Conduct employee training programs.
• Prepare production progress and status reports.
• Maintain production and personnel records.
• Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper functioning, report any equipment deficiencies or failures, coordinate with the maintenance department as needed.
• Confer with others to resolve production problems or equipment malfunctions in a timely manner.
• Determine specific material, equipment, or labor requirements for production.
• Advise others on ways to improve processes or products.
• Participate in inventorying and ordering materials, supplies, or equipment related to production.
• Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Notify management of work rules violations and participate in disciplinary process when needed.
• Conformance with the Valtris Quality and Environmental, Health, Safety and Security policies and awareness of ISO 9001 and RC14001 management system requirements applicable to this position.
• Support company safety initiatives and comply with health and safety policies and legal regulations.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities, as necessary.

Physical Requirements

• Must be physically able to operate variety of electronic office equipment – computer, printer, radio, phone.
• At times, prolonged periods of sitting at desk working on computer/workstation and on calls.
• May occasionally need to lift up to 50 pounds.
• May occasionally need to bend, stoop, reach and/or twist at the waist.
• Ability based upon position and need to perform duties/visit/walk through a manufacturing environment with the following conditions: chemical and mechanical operations, dust and fumes, working within safe but proximity to forklift and machine operations, exposure to heat and humidity, hearing or talking around loud machinery.
• Wearing of personal protective equipment as required.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, degree in Engineering or technical field a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
• SAP experience.
• Must be able to work a rotating four day by 12-hour shifts which may cover days, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and schedule changes as the business requires.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
• Computer literate --proficient in Internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SAP.
