AvtechTyee, Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor in Everett, WA to lead shop floor operations with a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, or operations management required.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment, preferably machine shop.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a department and staff.

Responsibilities

• Release and prioritize work orders to meet production schedules, assigning duties and estimating worker hours.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers and assign duties.
• Meet production schedules, efficiencies and utilization targets.
• Suggest improvements to production methods, equipment performance and quality.
• Improve working conditions and equipment use to boost efficiency.
• Analyze and resolve production problems with staff.
• Maintain time and production records accurately.
• Estimate, requisition and inspect materials as required.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver business results.
• Report machine malfunctions and ensure timely resolution.
• Ensure smooth transition of work between shifts.

Primary Responsibilities

• Releases and prioritizes work orders to achieve production schedules, assigns work and estimates worker hour requirements for successful completion of job assignments while meeting delivery, quality, and cost metrics.
• Correctly interprets specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers and effectively assigns duties
• Meets production schedules, efficiencies and utilization targets
• Recommends and initiates measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product within company guidelines
• Proactively works to improve working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, departments or work crew
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
• Accurately maintains time and production records
• Correctly and efficiently estimates, requisitions and inspects material as required
• Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments; successfully collaborates cross-functionally to deliver business results
• Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel and follows up to ensure successful and timely resolution
• Ensures the smooth transition of work between shifts

And You Will Have

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Management or Operations Management is required.
• At least 2 years' supervisory experience
• At least 2 years' experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment, preferably machine shop
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge and experience in business, supervision, and management
• Better than average written and spoken communication skills
• Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a department and department staff members
• Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
• Strong focus and attention to detail
• Time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task in a complex business environment
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
• Strong focus on customer service
• Ability to quickly master new business knowledge and technical skills
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.**
• This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization**

The wage/salary range for this role is $95k - $128k, depending on education and experience.
