Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a skilled supervisor in Dearborn, MI to lead 50-80 unionized hourly workers in an automotive manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include enforcing safety and quality, meeting throughput targets, and guiding problem resolution.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing supervision and flexibility for night or afternoon shifts with possible overtime. Candidate should hold a high school diploma or GED and be adept at daily administrative tasks and workforce coaching.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive manufacturing experience
• 3+ years of supervisory experience with unionized hourly workforce
• Willing to work nights or afternoons and up to 10 hours OT weekly
• Experience in safety, quality and productivity coaching
• Ability to meet cost, scrap and tooling targets

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise 50-80 unionized hourly employees and enforce safety, quality and throughput.
• Coach safety, quality and productivity to meet objectives via standardized work and line checks.
• Support continuous improvement and root cause problem solving.
• Optimize throughput while respecting budgets and cost targets.
• Meet First Time Through, inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling targets.
• Create a conducive environment for teams to perform assigned tasks.
• Maintain basic supervisory documentation and admin tasks.

Technical expertise in machining: CNC machines (lapping, grinding, honing) needs to know how to do basic troubleshooting-If they dont have a machining background its fine if they just have a maintenance background

Compensation:$35/hrExact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

• 3+ years of experience working within an automotive manufacturing environment
• 3+ years of supervisory experience managing unionized work force or hourly employees
• Comfortable working midnights (10pm-6am) or afternoons (2pm-10pm) and up to 10 hours OT each week (could be weekend work)

Skills and Requirements

• Responsible for managing and supervising 50-80 unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms safety, quality, and throughput
• Coach safety, quality and productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work for the assembly lines and through process confirmation, verify that the line is running safely, smoothly, and producing quality parts
• Support continuous improvement and coach problem resolution to the lowest level
• Optimize throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives
• Meet First Time Through, inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expense targets
• Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks
• Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents
