Job summary

Flex is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a shift of highly technical processes in Walker, Michigan. You will direct manufacturing operations, coach a team of professionals, and drive performance to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals.

You will review daily performance, collaborate with engineers on improvements, and ensure safety policies are followed while maintaining efficient, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Production and Manufacturing.
• 5+ years in a Manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP SAP or BAAN desired.
• Payroll systems experience with ADP or Kronos is good to have.
• Experience leading high performing teams in supervisory roles.
• Proven track record of building high performing teams and leadership & interpersonal skills.
• Experience reviewing material, equipment, and manpower resource requirements.
• Strong communication and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Familiarity with 5S Lean Manufacturing Methodology.

Responsibilities

• Support department budgeting and manage expenses.
• Ensure safety policies and training are followed by all personnel.

Production Supervisor - Walker, Michigan

Reporting to the Production Manager the Production Supervisor will be directing the manufacturing operations performed in a shift or group of production lines, ensuring they reach volume, quality, and cost goals. Reviews daily/regularly plant operating performance, evaluate areas that may be impacting performance, and advise on changes in operating conditions that will improve efficiencies/quality.

Shift Hours

7:00 am - 3:00 pm EST (M-F and some weekends)

What a typical day looks like:

• Produce several processes/lines in a highly technical environment.
• Manages a team of professionals (e.g., engineers/officers) to meet quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness requirements.
• Troubleshoots/analyses operational problems and advises on their resolution. Holds regular discussions with operators to coach performance and improve operational understanding/capability.
• Evaluate ideas for plant improvements and work with qualified engineers to develop project proposals to encourage improvements and changes.
• Provides technical/operational advice to project teams.
• May act as principal interface between the operation team and the maintenance function.
• Train and coach junior operators and junior team supervisors
• Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply to meet customer requirements.
• Initiates and participates in process development and cost improvement projects.
• Assists in department budget planning and manage department expenses.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Ensures compliance of standards, all manufacturing area personnel are trained and certified in their specific functions
• Ensure that all manufacturing personnel adhere to all safety guidelines.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Production and Manufacturing
• 5+ year in a Manufacturing environment.
• Experience with any ERP like SAP or BAAN is desired .
• Knowledge of Payroll system like ADP or Kronos is good to have .
• Experience in leading high performing teams, recent experience in supervisory roles
• Proven track record of building high performing teams and Leadership & Interpersonal skills
• Experience with reviewing material, equipment, and manpower resource requirements.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• The 5S System (Lean Manufacturing Methodology)
