Job summary

Darigold in Caldwell, Idaho is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead the assigned shift, driving safety, reliability, sanitation and quality while coordinating daily production activities. You will mentor and motivate teams, ensure attendance and timekeeping, oversee receiving, processing, packaging, and inventory control, and uphold OSHA and HACCP standards.

A BS in a related field and dairy experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Dairy manufacturing experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; industry experience considered in absence of a degree.
• Strong problem solving and ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision for the assigned production shift and personnel; motivate, train and communicate to ensure safety, reliability and quality.
• Mobilize plant personnel to meet plant objectives and ensure attendance and schedule adherence.
• Oversee timekeeping, PTO & OT, and compliant training for associates.
• Direct operations in receiving, sampling, quality measures, processing, handling, packaging and inventory control.
• Inspect machinery to ensure OSHA and HACCP compliance and document daily checks and reports.

Job description

Darigold is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor to join the leadership team at our Caldwell plant. The Production Supervisor will possess the desire and ability to provide leadership and supervisory coordination in all aspects of production. This leader will be a hands‑on partner in the Operations Division. The Production Supervisor maintains a high level of productivity and continuous improvement with their assigned shift in the areas of safety, reliability, cost savings, team building and personnel management.

What You Will Do

• Provide leadership and supervision for the assigned production shift and associated personnel. Effectively motivate, train and communicate with their assigned shift teams to ensure superior levels of safety, reliability, sanitation and quality. Ensure individual and team levels of performance meet or exceed goals and expectations. Supervises, coordinates, and monitors activities of workers engaged in processing and production.
• Mobilize plant personnel to facilitate the achievement of plant objectives
• Ensures all compliance training is fully accomplished by all associates
• Formulates, monitors, and tracks schedule and individual employee adherence to the schedule and resolves any attendance issues
• Ensures that the timekeeping is accurate, up‑to‑date, and appropriately supported with review notes. Monitors/controls PTO & OT
• Direct operations in receiving, sampling, quality measures, processing, handling, and packaging as well as inventory management and control
• Proactively identify problems before issues occur and take correct course of action
• Inspect all machinery in assigned work arena to ensure compliance with OSHA and HACCP standards
• Perform daily checks, document, reconcile, and report to ensure the highest quality of product is produced and tracked

What You Will Bring

• Dairy manufacturing experience is required. Experience in the processing of fluid milk products is highly desirable
• A Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business or related field preferred. Industry experience would be considered in the absence of a degree
• Ability to analytically and systemically troubleshoot manufacturing processes and issues; ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical applications in food and/or dairy processing
• Ability to work in a team environment (as well as independently)
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be self‑motivated and a self‑starter
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Computer literate in PC based applications including Microsoft Office Suite, 11i, Oracle, EAM, and familiarity with PLC based process controls
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Processes. Ability to apply GMP procedures and practices to the system and ensure conformance
• Must be able to obtain and/or maintain certifications in Receiving, Antibiotic Testing, CHARM testing and any other regulatory agency requirements
• Fluent in Continuous Improvement Processes such as Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Process applications, and Standardized Procedural Development; ability to identify, assess, and develop department and process improvement projects and present financial justification
• Ability to perform daily checks and reports to ensure quality and production goals are met. Must be able to monitor and inspect product and equipment
• Ability and experience working with groups of individuals with varying levels of education, expertise, and backgrounds
