Job summary

Regal Rexnord is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations on the Bowling Green, KY floor. You will manage a team, ensure safety, quality, and adherence to the labor agreement, and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include maintaining production schedules, training staff, ensuring timely deliveries, and coordinating with engineering, materials, and production control to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in manufacturing operations or similar environment.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory or comparable experience, preferably in a union environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong team-building and coaching skills.
  • Good computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure product quality meets customer requirements.
  • Train and develop department personnel.
  • Establish production work schedule to ensure timely delivery of products.

  • Promote and support continuous improvement and recommend process improvements.
  • Implement systems, procedures, policies, and methods.

Job description

Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

Position Description:

Responsible for leading people, managing processes, and maintaining equipment across all areas of the production floor. Ensures associate safety and adherence to environmental and regulatory requirements. Ensures proper quality processes and controls are followed. Responsible for optimizing costs and driving continuous improvement activities. Coaches, mentors, and recognizes associates. Ensures proper inventory transactions are completed. Ensures Company work rules and the negotiated labor agreement are followed.

Principal Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe environment and organized work area.
  • Ensure product quality meets customer requirements.
  • Train and develop department personnel.
  • Establish and/or follow the production work schedule to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Assign work to meet customer delivery needs.
  • Manage department personnel performance and administer Company policies and work rules.
  • Support manufacturing through the timely resupply of stored components.
  • Ensure accuracy of materials and transactions within production departments.
  • Ensure accuracy of all production and time reporting submitted by employees.
  • Ensure the proper care and operation of all production equipment.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, high-performing work atmosphere.
  • Promote and support continuous improvement and recommend process improvements.
  • Implement systems, procedures, policies, and methods.
  • Maintain pertinent records.
  • Follow and enforce the Labor Agreement and Company Work Rules.

Performance Measures:

The position will be evaluated on metrics similar to the ones below:

  • Safe operations and compliance with the behavior-based safety program
  • Quality performance of department personnel
  • On-time delivery performance of products
  • Continuous improvement projects, including 6S audit scores
  • Cost control and cost reduction initiatives
  • Inventory accuracy
  • Accuracy of production and time reporting

Interactions:

  • Reports to the Operations Lead.
  • Effectively communicates problems and issues that require higher-level decisions.
  • Interacts daily with production supervisors, including supervisors on other shifts. Communicates equipment issues effectively and works with supervisors to schedule repairs.
  • Works with department managers and supervisors on equipment issues.
  • Works with Production Control to schedule product to meet customer needs.
  • Works with Engineering to ensure Bill of Materials, routing, process, and equipment accuracy.
  • Works with Accounting to ensure time records, product reporting, and related records are accurate.
  • Interacts with teams in support of team activities and continuous improvement.
  • Works closely with the Materials and Purchasing departments to procure inventory needed to meet customer requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing operations or a similar environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or comparable experience, preferably in a union environment.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferably assembly, injection molding, and stamping.
  • Strong team-building and coaching skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good computer skills, including word processing, PowerPoint, Excel, and internet navigation.
  • Independent, self-starting, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills.
