Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Production Superintendent to direct multi-department production across a single shift, ensuring cost-effective, on-time manufacture of quality products. The role requires willingness to work on the 2nd shift and strong leadership to drive scheduling and process improvements.

Qualifications include a high school diploma (GED) with a related bachelor’s preferred, 2+ years of related experience, and knowledge of USDA regulations.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of supervisory training preferred.

• Strong diplomacy and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs production operations and personnel to meet production and quality standards and manage budget and costs.
• Plans short-term activities for production continuity: shift schedules, material requisition, and equipment maintenance.
• Coordinates with other plant areas to support output, productivity, and quality.
• Selects, trains, and motivates production labor to meet schedules at optimum productivity and cost.
• Recommends improvements in production flow or methods.
• Ensures use of operating methods and procedures to eliminate problems and improve quality.
• Counsels supervisors on performance and departmental efficiency.
• Recommends machine/equipment modifications to improve production and quality.

Production Superintendent

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position directs the production/processing supervisors across several departments on a single shift to assure cost-effective, on-time manufacture of quality products.

Must be willing to work 2nd shift!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directs production operations and personnel to meet established production and quality control standards, to control budget and costs, and to provide data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products produced.
• Establishes short-term activities directed toward production continuity and balance such as shift schedules, ensuring requisition of materials, machine loading, grievance resolution, and equipment maintenance.
• Coordinates and integrates with other plant function areas to ensure support in attaining output, productivity, and quality.
• Selects, organizes, trains, and motivates production labor force to ensure consistent attainment of production schedules at optimum productivity and cost levels.
• Recommends improvements in production flow or methods.
• Ensures effective use of operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and to improve product quality.
• Counsels supervisors as needed on job performance and departmental efficiencies.
• Recommends modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.

EXPERIENCE:

• Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience.
• 3-5 years of supervisory training experience preferred.
• Knowledge of USDA regulations
• Strong diplomacy and communication skills

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma (GED) required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
