Job Overview

The Production Specialist is a hybrid position supporting the Instructional Design team and content experts in creating engaging, pedagogically effective, and ADA compliant instructional content. Responsibilities include designing multimedia and XR learning objects using best practices in instructional design and accessibility.

Essential Functions

• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and Instructional Designers to produce and edit instructional materials such as videos, graphics, interactive media, and XR activities.
• Develop and edit guides, presentations, and handouts that engage learners and support instructional goals.
• Work with geographically distributed stakeholders during design, development, and implementation of courses, course revisions, and XR content.
• Update project stakeholders on progress and provide recommendations based on instructional design theory and adult learning principles.
• Develop project plans, storyboards, and scripts; support course development schedules and meet deadlines.
• Review learning content and multimedia for accuracy, accessibility, and usability; ensure compliance with ADA guidelines and instructional design principles.
• Contribute to instructional solutions that encourage learner engagement and participation.
• Deliver, set up, and maintain XR and production equipment; provide troubleshooting and technical support.
• Assist with training sessions for faculty, staff, and instructional designers on production tools and methods.
• Support inventory management and ensure equipment is properly maintained for instructional use.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in instructional design, digital accessibility, video production, multimedia design, XR/AR/VR development, or 3D graphics.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
• Proficiency with authoring tools and multimedia software (HTML, XML, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Captivate, Storyline, CenarioVR, Lightboards, XR headsets, Hololens).
• Experience with production equipment such as cameras, lighting, and audio/video technology.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; experience using email, chat, and video conferencing.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under deadlines.
• Strong time management, clear communication, and customer service focus.
• Professional demeanor, attention to detail, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Familiarity with LMS (preferably Canvas) and video hosting platforms (Yuju, Kaltura, Panopto).
• Ability to travel as needed for production and stakeholder collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with learning management systems such as Canvas or Moodle.
