Job summary

Precise Systems is seeking a Production Sonobuoy Engineer (PSE) to support the Airborne ASW Systems Engineering Division in Crane, Indiana. The role oversees production sonobuoys, ensuring design, manufacturing, quality and reliability requirements are met for Navy programs.

This in-person position requires interfacing with the Contracting Officer and manufacturers, reviewing ECPs, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial engineering from ABET-accredited college.
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience in production/quality/manufacturing.
• Experience with QA/management processes in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret contractor technical documentation.
• Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders and managing projects.
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.

Precise Systems is looking for a Production Sonobuoy Engineer (PSE) in support of Airborne ASW Systems Engineering Division. AN/SSQ Series Production Sonobuoys are the principal sensors used by U.S. Navy Air Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) forces in carrying out their primary mission functions of detection, classification and localization of adversary submarines during peacetime and combat operations. The Production Engineering Branch is located in Crane, IN. The PSE is responsible for the oversight of assigned production sonobuoys delivered to the Navy by generating and maintaining engineering and technical requirements for design, manufacturing, quality and reliability as required. This includes coordination and communication with the Contracting Officer, other government agencies, as well as the sonobuoy manufacturer.

This role requires in-person support.

Duties:

• Provide technical interpretation of performance specification requirements to Contracting Officer and sonobuoy manufacturers.

Required Education:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial engineering from an ABET accredited college or university

Required Experience:

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education, employment, internships, and/or research activities that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Experience with quality assurance / management processes as related to manufacturing.
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of technical requirements, design specification, and ability to read and interpret contractor technical documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects with multiple stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Working knowledge of current Microsoft Windows operating systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Travel Required: Regular travel -- you are expected to travel up to 5 days per month for this position. Estimated annual travel is ~10%.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
