Job summary

Truvant in Wisconsin seeks a skilled machine operator to set up and run equipment to target throughput, yield, and rework, following approved production and quality documentation.

You will verify correct product and materials, perform setup/shutdown, maintain clean work areas, monitor process parameters, use correct recipes, and report issues daily to supervision. On-the-job training provided; 2 years manufacturing experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Ability to operate various production equipment according to instructions.
  • Strong multitasking and time management to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Check production schedule to ensure correct product and materials are in the room.
  • Set up and/or shutdown equipment as needed.
  • Keep production areas clean and organized.
  • Ensure machine process parameters are followed and correct recipes used.
  • Communicate daily any issues to supervisor.
  • Cross-train new operators on machines.
  • Maintain adherence to company policies, ISO, GMP, USDA requirements.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a safe production floor and environment.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

To set up and operate machine at or above specified target levels throughput, yield, and rework, by following all approved production and quality documentation

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Check production schedule to ensure the correct product and materials are in the room
  • Responsible for setup and/or shutdown of equipment
  • Responsible that areas in room remain clean
  • Ensure machine process parameters are being followed
  • Ensure correct recipe are being used
  • Daily communication to supervisor of any problems that occur
  • Cross train new operators on machines
  • Ensure company practices and procedures are being carried out effectively.
  • Ensure daily rework is being fulfilled
  • Correctly complete the necessary paperwork
  • Ensure that the production floor is a safe environment, free from hazards
  • Other duties assigned
Requirements
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
  • 2 years hands on experience in manufacturing environment is preferred
  • On the job training provided.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge gained through on the job training of company products, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Skill in operating various equipment as needed to perform the job
  • Skill in multitasking and time management
  • Ability to function cooperatively and effectively in a team environment with peers and personnel in other departments
  • Ability to keep company and customer information that is discussed or viewed while under employment with Truvant confidential
  • Ability to adhere to all regulatory and company policies, procedures, work instructions including but not limited to: Truvant policies, customer specific policies, ISO, GMP’s, USDA, regulatory food safety and food defense
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to read documents, printouts, computer screens and other communication
  • Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers
  • Must be able to reach, touch, grasp
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to climb, stoop/kneel, lift, pull and push
  • Must be able to conduct yourself in a safe manner to avoid accidents while on the production floor
  • Must be able to work in various environments based on building location and products.
  • Level of Physical Requirements: Sedentary to medium work level; lifting and positioning weight loads up to 40 pounds
