Evolution Motion Solutions in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Production Shop Technician (Hourly, M-F) to support receiving, organizing, and preparing materials, assist with assembly, and maintain inventory accuracy in a hands-on shop environment. Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use common hand/power tools.
  • Experience with measuring tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, organize, and store incoming materials.
  • Prepare and stage materials for shipment or delivery.
  • Assist with assembly, fabrication, and shop projects as directed.
  • Safely use hand/power tools and measure equipment.
  • Operate material-handling equipment after training.

About this Opportunity:

The Production Shop Technician is responsible for supporting production operations by receiving and organizing materials, assisting with assembly and fabrication, maintaining inventory accuracy, and safely operating material-handling equipment.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive, inspect, organize, and put away incoming materials and products.
  • Prepare, package, label, and stage materials and/or products for shipment or delivery.
  • Assist with general assembly, fabrication, and shop projects as directed.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and other shop equipment safely and properly.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials, products, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform routine cycle counts.
  • Assist with inventory organization and ensure materials are stored properly and can be easily located.
  • Operate forklifts, cranes, and other material-handling equipment after completing required training and authorization.
  • Perform quality checks and ensure products and completed work meet established requirements.
  • Identify routine issues with materials, equipment, or completed work and communicate concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Assist with company deliveries, pickups, and transportation of materials as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Location:

Evolution Motion Solutions is headquartered in Farmers Branch, TX with additional offices in TX, UT, AL, AZ, MT, OK, MA, MI IN, IL, OH and Canada. This position will be based out of our Auburn Hills, TX facility.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, skills and/or abilities required. Must meet the minimum requirements listed in each Qualifications subsection.

REQUIRED:
  • Proficient with common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to operate material-handling equipment.
PREFERRED:
  • Ability to identify routine production or material issues and escalat e concerns appropriately.
  • Experience with measuring tools.
EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical or vocational school is a plus
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 1–2 years of manufacturing, warehouse, assembly, mechanical, or similar experience preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or other material-handling equipment is a plus.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as a tape measure, ruler, and torque wrench.
  • Must be able to read and follow work instructions, assembly instructions, and basic drawings or diagrams.
  • Safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other warehouse or shop equipment.
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and handle materials and products.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot routine problems and determine when assistance is needed.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also working effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Effectively communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and other departments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The role involves frequent movement throughout a manufacturing or warehouse area and can be physically demanding at times. Responsibilities may require lifting and placing products weighing up to 50 pounds. Physical activities include standing, sitting, bending, reaching, gripping, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying. Additional requirements include operating power tools.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to a general manufacturing or warehouse environment including noise and temperature fluctuations. Work outside normal business hours and weekends is required from time to time.
