Job summary

SNF Chemtall, a subsidiary of SNF Holding Company, is seeking a Production Shift Supervisor to oversee daily plant production under supervision. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and meeting customer specifications while supervising a team on rotating shifts.

The position requires an engineering or science-related degree or equivalent manufacturing experience, strong communication skills, and a track record of leading teams in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science, or 4+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Proven track record in safety, quality, production, and environmental matters.
• Strong communication and leadership in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Rotating shift experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise six to twelve hourly employees in chemical manufacture and packaging.
• Maintain and improve safety standards and procedures.
• Identify and initiate corrective actions to prevent nonconformities related to product quality and production efficiency.
• Follow up on corrective actions through to completion.
• Minimize labor costs by enforcing or adjusting schedules as needed.
• Check that finished products meet customer specifications and sign off on orders.
• Demonstrate proficiency in performance appraisals, coaching, and discipline.
• Ensure safety permits are completed and followed.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts site-wide.
• Work with engineering and maintenance to facilitate plant maintenance.
• Troubleshoot issues to decrease downtime and improve productivity.
