Production Shift Manager—Night shift, 12 hours

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience.
• Leadership training or college degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years in manufacturing supervisory role.
• Well‑organized and team‑oriented with strong demonstrated leadership abilities; excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills; proven ability to work effectively and accurately in a high volume, fast‑paced environment.
• Must be able to work night shift, 12‑hour shift.

Duties

• Responsible for the throughput and product quality of assigned shift.
• Review production metric reports for accuracy and control production order variances (hours/material/consumption).
• Review and manage re‑inspection backlogs, quality issues, machine changes, handling and material issues.
• Lead, motivate, instruct and teach shift members to ensure achieving production deliverables.
• Supervise work performance, perform audits, provide control measures within the range of responsibility, and determine necessary improvement activities.
• Participate in the preparation and modification of job descriptions and the hiring process (interviews).
• Create planning documents (holiday planning, shift planning, training plans) and schedule/organize staffing to meet the needs based on the production schedule, vacation schedule, call‑offs and special needs.
• Participate in production routines and report the relevant data (production quantities, quality, accomplished order production, tool availability, maintenance tasks).
• Perform daily communication meetings at the beginning of shifts and ensure correct and timely reporting and instructions is provided to employees within the shift.
• Assist in development and implementation of training programs and evaluate training needs for each position.
• Implement EHS directive and maintain a clean and safe workspace in area of responsibility.
• Perform personnel evaluations and coaching on a regular basis. Document performance issues, as needed.
