Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Organizes orders and creates precise schedules to enhance production flow through panel production centers of operation.
• Orders raw materials to confirm timely arrival for production and plans capacity to ensure on-time delivery.
• Maintains on-going communication with production and sales staff, ensuring order details are communicated and deadlines met.
• Monitors production by comparing progress to schedule and resolves scheduling problems.
• Maintains expert knowledge on manufacturing/ERP systems (AX) and supports system upgrades with IT.
• Develops and maintains surplus lists and communicates availability to sales weekly.
• Communicates critical production information to shift supervisors in a timely fashion.
• Coordinates material flow with other divisional schedulers and with shipping for efficient transfer.
• Strives to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and enhance customer service.

Job description

Timber Products' Particleboard facility in Medford, Oregon is looking for someone to join its leadership team in the role of Production Scheduler. This position supports the Company in meeting its production goals by ensuring the optimal scheduling of particleboard production. Coordinates production priorities with sales and shipping, while monitoring availability of materials.

Major Tasks

• Organizes orders and creates precise schedules to enhance production flow through panel production centers of operation. Orders raw materials to confirm that they arrive in a timely fashion for production. Plans capacity to ensure on-time delivery of product.
• Maintains on-going communication with production and sales staff. Ensures all exact order details are communicated to floor level and that orders are completed by the required deadline. Provides daily feedback to sales staff regarding order flow.
• Monitors production by comparing current progress to schedule. Identifies and resolves scheduling problems.
• Maintains expert user knowledge and skills on all manufacturing/ERP systems (AX); participates in trainings; provides training to others on systems as needed; supports implementation of system upgrades by working closely with IT.
• Develops and maintains all surplus lists and communicates availability of surplus to sales on a weekly basis.
• Communicates critical production information to shift supervisors in timely fashion.
• Maintains communication with other divisional schedulers to coordinate material flow between mills. Communicates with shipping department to ensure efficient transfer of materials between divisions.
• Works to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively to provide quality customer service.
