Omni Control Technology is seeking a Production Scheduler to develop and maintain production schedules that support customer delivery requirements while maximizing manufacturing efficiency.   • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate production schedules based on demand, materials, labor, and priorities.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure materials are available to support schedules.
  • Monitor work orders and adjust schedules to address changing requirements or constraints.
  • Balance workloads with Production Supervisors to optimize resources.
  • Prioritize customer orders to meet on-time delivery objectives.
  • Analyze capacity and identify potential bottlenecks.
  • Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
  • Monitor KPIs including schedule attainment and on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on ECOs and their impact on schedules.
  • Participate in production meetings with schedule updates and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate ERP/MRP data and support inventory initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes and production flow.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.

Job description

Omni Control Technology is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Scheduler to develop and maintain production schedules that support customer delivery requirements while maximizing manufacturing efficiency. The Production Scheduler serves as a critical link between Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Shipping to ensure materials, labor, and production capacity are aligned to meet customer expectations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a contract manufacturing environment, strong ERP/MRP system knowledge, and the ability to effectively manage priorities in a fast-paced, custom-build operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate production schedules based on customer demand, material availability, labor capacity, and manufacturing priorities.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure materials are available to support production schedules.
  • Monitor work order status and adjust schedules as required to address changing customer requirements or production constraints.
  • Work closely with Production Supervisors to balance workloads and optimize manufacturing resources.
  • Review and prioritize customer orders to meet on-time delivery objectives.
  • Analyze production capacity and identify potential bottlenecks.
  • Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including schedule attainment, on-time delivery, and production throughput.
  • Collaborate with Engineering regarding engineering change orders (ECOs) and their impact on production schedules.
  • Participate in production meetings and provide schedule updates and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate data within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Support inventory management initiatives and work with Purchasing to minimize shortages and excess inventory.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes, production flow, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing operation.
Qualifications
Required
  • Associate degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of production scheduling, planning, manufacturing, or supply chain experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Experience in contract manufacturing, electrical control panels, industrial equipment, or custom manufacturing environments.
  • APICS/ASCM certification or related supply chain certification.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
