Job Title: Production Scheduler

Location: New Market, VA

Job Summary

Evaluate and verify production implementation possibilities. It’s the main start of building the optimal, accurate production plan by balancing the demands and production capacities. Requires strong knowledge of ERP/SAP PP modules to optimize production. Contributes to optimizing procurement processes, supplier sourcing, and supplier relationship management to achieve Kennametal objectives in delivery, quality, and cost.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Build and control daily, weekly, monthly and production schedules to ensure output meets customer demands.
• Create Bill of Material and Product Routing, verify technical drawings for quality standards.
• Coordinate with Production Team to set up and balance schedule with machining capacities at each station.
• Extract production data from SAP to update status, overview and foresee risks of production stop due to material shortage, quality, machining program or technical issues.
• Receive and arrange materials into correct bin locations in Warehouse to ensure fastest effective material movement.
• Analyze warehouse data (inventory levels, safety stock, reorder point, FIFO) to build best service levels equivalent to customer demands.
• Cooperate with other teams (CSR/Sale/Production) to implement common projects and related job flow to expedite implementation.
• Utilize, configure, and maintain procurement data.
• Other tasks assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant work experience.
• Good communication skills, active, quickly adapt to new environment and multiple tasks.
• Good English reading and writing; communication proficiency is merit.
• SAP or other ERP experience.
• Experience in Warehouse management, Machinery, Cutting tools is merit.
• Understanding of procurement and supply chain processes.
• Customer relationship management experience.
• Data management; skilled in analytics and capable of organizing raw data for decision making.
