Job summary

Lake Air Products is seeking an experienced Production Scheduler to join our on-site team in New Hope, MN. You will monitor forecasts and material availability to build and maintain production schedules that meet customer commitments and optimize inventory.

Responsibilities include scheduling, expediting, and prioritizing work orders, collaborating with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations, and maintaining Kanban and lean practices to achieve 99% schedule accuracy.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of production planning and inventory management experience.
• Strong load leveling, expediting, and lean Kanban skills.
• Sheet metal fabrication experience a plus.
• Experience collaborating with Sales, Engineering and Production.
• Experience with M1 or Epicor preferred.

• Provide support for manufacturing and internal/external customers.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate policies for planning, scheduling and sequencing for all operations.
• Monitor the product supply and demand report to identify shortages and reduce excess inventory.
• Assist operations managers to set production priorities to meet promised dates.
• Authorize approved expedite requests and changes to production plans.
• Maintain stocking levels via Kanbans/minimum quantities.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Production Schedulerto join our growing team on-site at the Lake Air Product plant in New Hope, MN. As a Production Scheduler in the metals fabrication industry, you will monitor forecasts and materials to produce schedules that will allow customer orders to be filled on time.

• Maintain production planning and scheduling integrity with a 99% level of record accuracy
• Build and maintain production schedules to support demand from various customers
• Provide support for manufacturing, as well as for internal and external customers
• Develop, maintain, and communicate policies, procedures, and operating guidelines for the planning, scheduling and sequencing for all operations
• Monitor the product supply and demand report to identify and correct any supply shortages, as well as to eliminate unnecessary inventory
• Assist operations managers and order processors to set and control production priorities to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction in meeting promised dates
• Provide authorization to all approved expedite requests, changes, and updates to production and plans for customer commitments
• Maintain stocking levels via manufacturing Kanbans/minimum quantities for inventory hedges

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of production planning and inventory management experience required
• Exceptional technical skills, including solid load leveling and expediting techniques, inventory management, and lean Kanban management
• Related manufacturing experience and sheet metal fabrication experience is a plus
• Strong communication skills in order to collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Production and potentially customers
• Ability to build and adjust production schedules to accommodate material availability, equipment failures, alternate routings, changing customer demands, rework needs, and more
• Previous experience in a contract manufacturing world or an OEM with many different products preferred
  
• Previous experience with M1 or Epicor preferred
