Job summary

Vestis in Sioux City, IA, is seeking an industrial laundry team member to help safely and efficiently handle merchandise in our facility.

Your duties include removing bulk hangers from totes, aligning hangers, removing foreign objects, repairing damaged hangers, and storing completed units while maintaining a clean, safe workspace. Overtime may be required and weekend shifts could occur.

Qualifications

• Understand all required training, written and verbal instructions.
• Working knowledge of basic math.
• Good verbal and/or written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule.
• Overtime required as needed.

Responsibilities

• Removes bulk hangers from totes or hanger units.
• Aligns the hangers so the items are oriented in the same direction.
• Removes any twist ties or foreign objects from the hanger.
• Bends any damaged hangers back into position.
• Places the sorted hangers on an empty hanger unit and discards the scrap units.
• Stacks the hangers until they reach the hanging unit's elbow surface (approx. 3 inches from the top).
• Stores the completed units in the appropriate areas.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment, and observes best practices in all production activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. Responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the laundry facility.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Essential duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

• Removes bulk hangers from totes or hanger units.
• Aligns the hangers so the items are oriented in the same direction.
• Removes any twist ties or foreign objects from the hanger.
• Bends any damaged hangers back into position.
• Places the sorted hangers on an empty hanger unit and discards the scrap units.

Working Environment / Safety Requirements

• Work is performed in a warehouse setting and regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme heat and cold conditions as well as dust and noise.
• Work is based on a shift schedule, and may include weekends.

Education
