Job summary

Nutrastrips-Oral Dissolving Film Strips seeks a Quality Control (QC) professional to monitor and inspect products and materials against specifications. You will oversee quality processes, approve or hold items, and suggest improvements to manufacturing steps to meet defined standards.

Responsibilities include inspecting materials, equipment, and personnel, verifying quality checkpoints, and assisting in audits and CAPAs.

  • 1 year of demonstrated experience in quality assurance within nutraceutical/pharmaceutical or related industries.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Vice President of Quality or designated Quality Supervisor.
  • Check that raw materials, components, labels, etc., are of suitable quality and approved for use.
  • Assist in receiving and sampling of raw materials, components, and finished products.
  • Inspect production equipment and personnel to ensure smooth production.
  • Verify quality checkpoints in the MMRs and sign off or investigate as needed.
  • Help train new and existing employees in production processes.
  • Participate in Quality Management Systems programs, investigations, CAPAs, non-conformances, and audits.
  • Assist in developing process monitoring systems to reduce variation.
  • Conduct internal quality/process audits to assess compliance with regulations and the Quality Management System.
  • Create reports for the Quality Director or Supervisor.
  • Perform environmental monitoring and update documentation.
  • Record temperature and humidity readings and document updates.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

Job Title: Quality Control (QC)

Department: Quality

Job Purpose:

To help monitor, inspect, examine products and materials for defects or deviations from specifications, approve or put on quality hold, and propose measures to correct or improve any steps in the production of finished products at Nutrastrips to meet established quality standards. To oversee the Nutrastrips facility strategies, objectives, and operational status to ensure high quality processes and products.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Report to the Vice President of Quality or designated Quality Supervisor.
  • Check that all raw materials, components, labels etc. that are involved in the production process are of suitable quality and approved for use.
  • Help with the process of receiving and sampling of raw materials, components, finished products etc. when needed.
  • Inspect production equipment and employees to make sure the production process is running smoothly.
  • Inspect employees working in production are following appropriate procedures and protocols.
  • Verify all quality checkpoints in the MMRs, sign when in compliance or investigate if needed.
  • Help train new employees and/or current employees in any aspect of the production process when needed.
  • Participate in all Quality Management Systems programs, including investigations, CAPAs, non-conformances, and audits when needed.
  • Assist in the development of process monitoring systems to reduce process variation when needed.
  • Assist with internal quality/process audits to assess compliance to regulations and the internal Quality Management System.
  • Create reports to be reviewed by the Quality Director or Quality Supervisor.
  • Perform environmental monitoring and update documentation.
  • Perform calibration procedures for weigh scales prior to production use and update documentation.
  • Record temperature and humidity readings periodically throughout each day and update documentation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • 1 year of demonstrated experience in quality assurance within the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or related industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and writing skills to work across departments.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels (technical and non-technical); verbally and written.
  • Be organized and be able to prioritize tasks based on business needs.
  • Team contributor with growth mindset.

Working Conditions:

40 hours per week (primarily 9am-5pm Monday to Friday), Occasionally needing to lift 30-50lbs, Ability to wear personal protective equipment.
