Job summary

Safariland Florida is seeking a quality inspector to support controlled processes, audit production, and verify parts against blueprints for conformance.

You will apply problem solving tools, manage RMAs, and enter data into D365 and Excel while collaborating with all departments to resolve issues and maintain ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination preferred.
• Experience evaluating quality of injection molded and thermoformed products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Select and apply problem solving tools to identify nonconformances and drive corrective actions.
• Audit production processes and evaluate effectiveness to ensure quality.
• Use blueprints to identify inspection points for molded components, finished product and incoming material.
• Provide part acceptability criteria, samples, deviations, and other quality documentation as needed.
• Disposition returned materials per the RMA process.
• Rework finished goods to meet quality standards.
• Enter information into D365, Excel and other software to track scrap and disposition.
• Collaborate with departments to address quality concerns in a timely manner.

Protect the customer by ensuring all processes are conducted in a controlled manner per internal documents and work standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Select and effectively apply problem solving tools such as fishbone and 5-why analysis to identify nonconformances, root cause, and facilitate implementation of corrective actions and error-proofing.
• Use work standards to audit and evaluate effectiveness of processes. Conduct regular audits of production to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
• Use blueprints/engineering drawings to identify required inspection points and qualify products. THIS includes, but not limited to, molded components, finished product and incoming material.
• Timely follow through with all departments to provide part acceptability criteria and samples, documented deviations, certificates of conformance and other quality documentation as needed.
• Disposition returned materials per the identified RMA (Returned Material Authorization) process
• Rework finished goods and or molded components as needed to meet quality standards
• Enter information into D365, Excel and other software-based programs to track scrap, returned part disposition and other assigned tasks
• Work effectively with all departments to ensure quality concerns are addressed in an accurate and timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

Experience evaluating the quality of injection molded and thermoformed products preferred

Required Education

High school degree or GED equivalent required; Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two (2) year college or technical school preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Able to interpret engineering drawings for inspection criteria
• Proficient in the use and handling of gages and capable of working in metric and English units of measure
• Capable of conducting internal ISO audits of processes
• Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite and able to generate effective reports and communications, i.e., emails, audit reports, process graphs, etc.)
• Utilize D365 as needed to disposition RMAs, generate part inspection/containment lists, move parts to/from system locations and other tasks required
• Ability to lift/move boxes up to 40lbs in order to contain/inspect product as needed
