Job summary

Sauer Brands, Inc. in Lincoln, NE seeks a Processing Technician – Large Batch Kitchen Operator to weigh ingredients and assemble batches for industrial cookers, while maintaining production records and safety standards.

You'll coordinate with multiple teams to ensure on-time flow, take samples, and uphold quality control throughout the shift. Starting pay is $18.50/hour with benefits after eligibility.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required; manufacturing exp is a plus.
  • Familiarity with batch sheets and formulation processes is helpful.
  • Commitment to safety and sanitary practices in a food plant.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately weigh ingredients into 20–100 lb pails as per batch sheet.
  • Assemble ingredients onto pallets and ensure timely production documentation.
  • Take samples, record measurements, and report data accurately.
  • Operate control systems to draw ingredients and manage materials.
  • Maintain safe and sanitary conditions; follow SQF and GMP guidelines.
  • Coordinate with supervisor, operators, scheduling, QA, and warehousing.

Processing Technician – Large Batch Kitchen Operator
Overall Goal of Position

Ensure large batches of product are made according to standards in industrial size cookers.

Starting at $18.50/hour
Job Summary:

Accurately weigh minor ingredients into pails (brutes) per instructions on batch sheet. Assemble ingredients per batch sheet onto pallets along with pails and

timely completion of all required production documentation. Included in overall duties is to take samples, record and report accurate measurements and counts, transfer ingredients, as well as maintain safe and sanitary conditions throughout plant. Requires close communication and coordination with production supervisor, process operators, scheduling, quality assurance, maintenance, and warehousing.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Able to accurately weigh (scale) proper ingredients into pails (20# -100#)
  • Able to operate control systems to draw ingredients for weighing.
  • Able to read and understand production schedules, mixing formulations, various product labels, ingredient contents and proportions.
  • Able to follow safe work habits regarding lifting and material safety.
  • Safely operate pallet jack and walk-behind forklift to move materials.
  • Communicate clearly with others in support positions.
  • Take the initiative to organize and accurately perform all job functions required to meet volume and quality of product scheduled.
  • Take action necessary to insure continuous product flow.
  • Communicate clearly with others in process and support positions.
  • Complete required production pick plans.
  • Regular attendance is an essential part of this function.
  • Accurately transfer ingredients.
  • Coordinate area cleaning so that work is done efficiently and correctly.
  • Follow and adhere to safety, operating, SQF, and GMP procedures
  • Other functions as required.
  • Management retains the discretion to change these duties at any time without notification.

The Ideal Candidate Will have:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of formulation processes in a manufacturing environment a plus.
