Job summary

TRUMPF Inc. seeks an engineering-oriented intern to support the Production Planning team in Farmington, CT. The role focuses on new product introductions, material BOM allocations, and developing metrics for supply chain performance.

The ideal candidate is pursuing an Industrial, Mechanical, Computer, or Manufacturing Engineering major with programming skills (VBA, C#) and strong organizational abilities. Onsite schedule runs January through August 2027, 24+ hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
• Strong inter-personal communication skills and ability to work as a team player.
• Programming skills in VBA and C# are desirable for the role.

Responsibilities

• Support the Production Planning team with new product introductions.
• Set up BOM allocations for new materials.
• Create and maintain Supply Chain performance metrics.
• Ensure on-time delivery and on-time shipments.
• Manage on-time container bookings and monitor vessel delays.
• Optimize purchasing parameters in SAP.
• Develop tools and workflows to evaluate pre-planning parameters.
• Assume other duties as designated by the manager.

Internship Duration: Onsite in Farmington, CT from January 2027 - August 2027 At least 24 hours weekly

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Production Planning team with new product introductions
• New material set up BOM allocations
• Creating and maintaining Supply Chain performance metrics
• On-time delivery
• On-time shipments
• On-time container booking
• Vessel delays
• Rolled containers
• Optimizing purchasing parameters in SAP
• Develop tools and workflows to evaluate and maintain the pre-planning parameters
• Other related duties as designated by manager.
