Job summary

CoorsTek, Inc. is seeking a Production Planning Coordinator II to coordinate the flow of work across departments to meet customer demands and forecasts.

Job Title

Production Planning Coordinator II

Schedules and coordinates the flow of work within or between departments, operational units and vendors to meet customer demands and forecasts.

Roles and Requirements:
  • Plans and schedules production orders based on established priorities and the availability of required materials and capacity. Follows up to determine actual performance versus estimates.
  • Computes amount of material required to complete job orders.
  • Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping date according to sales forecasts and customer orders.
  • Coordinates with the manufacturing floor to actively manage the production schedule.
  • Assembles work order packets complete with work order router, completion dates, and instructions for subsequent operations.
  • Follows and audits production orders through the production process to ensure the proper schedule is followed.
  • Monitors manufacturing system transactions for accuracy and works with leaders to correct discrepancies and eliminate the fundamental causes of the problems.
  • Coordinates material delivery with inventory to support manufacturing schedule. May examine material delivered to production to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Compiles records such as material inventory, in process production reports, and status and location of materials.
  • Performs system transactions to report movement of material between manufacturing operations and into finished goods. Monitors daily progress of manufacturing orders.
  • Monitors quality, service, and delivery issues and issues corrective actions as needed.
  • Analyzes information and requests received from engineering via ECF (Engineering Change Form) and effectively communicates the requirements to manufacturing personnel.
  • Contacts Team Leads and Department Supervisors relative to availability of materials, delays, changing orders and handling problems in order to meet the production plan.
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedule to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Maintains inventory records and requisitions as necessary to ensure delivery schedules are met.
  • May track and report key manufacturing metrics, such as cycle time against goal; assists in cycle time reduction and efficiency improvement efforts.
  • May prepare lists of required materials, tools, and equipment.
  • May enter purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment.
  • May assist manager with training of Production Planning Coordinator I personnel.
Job Requirements:
Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED
Experience:
  • 3 years of experience in related field.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Maintains general level of understanding of technical product and process knowledge.
  • Possesses an advanced understanding of MRP (material requirements planning) tools and techniques.
  • Performs tasks requiring moderate proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook and MFGPro.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds

Target Hiring Range: USD 19.00 - USD 24.00
