Job summary

Wipro Givon USA seeks a Production Planner to develop and maintain production schedules that maximize manufacturing capacity and ensure on-time delivery. The role collaborates with Operations, Engineering, Materials, Quality, and Program Management to resolve shortages and adjust plans as priorities shift.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in production planning/scheduling in manufacturing, with ERP/MRP experience (Epicor preferred) and strong Excel skills. A AS9100 exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate production schedules to maximize capacity and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Plan, prioritize, sequence, and release work orders based on demand, material, labor, tooling, and capacity.
  • Monitor schedule adherence, WIP, and capacity utilization; adjust schedules for constraints and changes.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks and shortages by collaborating with Operations, Engineering, Materials, Procurement, Quality, CS, and PM.
  • Expedite critical orders and develop recovery plans to minimize disruptions and meet commitments.
  • Maintain planning data, work order status, routings, and due dates in the ERP/MRP system.
  • Communicate priorities and changes to Operations and leadership for alignment.
  • Support new product introductions and engineering changes with minimal disruption.
  • Analyze performance metrics to improve schedule attainment and efficiency.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

Wipro Givon USA – Production Planner

Wipro Givon USA has an exciting new opportunity for a Production Planner to join our team. The Production Planner/Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating production schedules that maximize manufacturing capacity, optimize resource utilization, and ensure on-time customer delivery. This position plans and releases work orders, establishes production priorities based on customer demand, material availability, labor and machine capacity, and monitors schedule adherence to ensure production plans remain achievable.

Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Materials, Quality, and Program Management, the Production Planner/Scheduler proactively identifies and resolves material shortages, scheduling conflicts, and capacity constraints, adjusting production schedules as needed to support changing business priorities while minimizing production interruptions and ensuring customer commitments are met.

DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate production schedules that maximize manufacturing capacity, optimize resource utilization, and ensure on-time customer delivery.
  • Plan, prioritize, sequence, and release production work orders based on customer demand, material availability, labor availability, tooling availability, machine capacity, and production priorities.
  • Monitor schedule adherence, work-in-process (WIP), production progress, and capacity utilization, adjusting schedules as necessary to address changing priorities, material shortages, equipment downtime, engineering changes, and other operational constraints.
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and material shortages by working collaboratively with Operations, Engineering, Materials, Procurement, Quality, Customer Service, and Program Management.
  • Expedite critical work orders and develop recovery plans to minimize production disruptions and maintain customer delivery commitments.
  • Maintain accurate planning data, work order status, routings, due dates, and scheduling information within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Communicate production priorities, schedule changes, delivery risks, and recovery plans to Operations and leadership to ensure alignment and effective execution.
  • Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and customer priority changes by incorporating them into production schedules with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Analyze production performance and planning metrics to identify opportunities to improve schedule attainment, throughput, workflow, inventory levels, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Participate in daily production meetings, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning accuracy, reduce lead times, eliminate waste, and improve overall operational performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned / needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND ABILITIES
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, professional certifications, and relevant production planning or manufacturing experience will be considered.
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of production planning, scheduling, or production control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing and maintaining production schedules in an ERP/MRP system; Epicor experience preferred.
  • Experience planning and scheduling production based on customer demand, material availability, labor and tooling availability, machine capacity, and changing operational constraints, including equipment downtime.
  • Aerospace or other high-mix, low-volume manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience in an AS9100 or other highly regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, capacity planning, inventory control, and manufacturing workflows.
  • Proficient with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to interpret production data and make timely scheduling decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing demands while maintaining schedule accuracy and customer delivery commitments.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods, maneuver safely around a manufacturing floor, and use computer for extended period of time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, Engineering, Materials, Quality, Project Management, and Leadership.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and ownership.
  • ASCM Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in an ITAR/EAR-regulated manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
