Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Production Planner in Newport News to plan, coordinate, and control production schedules and material flow. You will advise management on work-in-progress status, material availability, and potential production issues to ensure resources meet production requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor's or equivalent combination of education and experience, with multiple pathways including apprenticeships or military experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combinations per minimum qualifications.
• Equivalent qualifications include NNS Apprentice School graduate, Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate, Associate's Degree or other 2-year program plus 2 years exempt experience or 4 years non-exempt experience.
• High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
• High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates material requirements for timely production.
• Advises management on status of work in progress, material availability, and production problems.
• Schedules equipment and personnel, prepares work orders or purchase requests based on master production schedule and inventory needs.
• Coordinates interdepartmental activity with QA, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, and shipping; expedites movements of parts.
