Job summary

Gentex Corporation, Manchester, New Hampshire, seeks a Production Planner/Scheduler to build and publish daily and weekly production schedules, verify material availability before releasing work orders, and move subassemblies and finished goods through the shop floor with discipline and precision.

You will monitor production performance, update schedules in real time, lead daily/weekly planning meetings, drive MRP transactions, and ensure on-time delivery while supporting inventory accuracy

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least two years’ production planning, scheduling, and material control experience in a Military/Aerospace/Commercial hybrid environment or comparable.
  • Proficiency with ERP scheduling systems.
  • Familiar with shop floor scheduling and component issuing/kitting.
  • Strong understanding of production flow from kit/part pulling to finished goods and end customer acceptance.
  • Experience supporting production of materials across a variety of mix/volume product lines.

Responsibilities

  • Build and publish daily and weekly production schedules for assigned work centers, production lines, or manufacturing departments.
  • Verify material availability before releasing work orders to the floor; coordinate with materials team on open shortages.
  • Update schedule in real time as production performance, equipment downtime, and priority changes require adjustments.
  • Ensure timely execution of all MRP transactions to facilitate proper product movement through the supply chain.
  • Daily review and closure of completed work orders resolving variances.
  • Support inventory accuracy by monitoring or adjusting consumption of materials, investigating and rectifying any discrepancies.
  • Process and schedule RMAs through production.
  • Attend/lead daily/weekly meetings to prioritize and plan production activities to maintain on-time delivery.
  • Communicate the status of job orders to internal customers on regular basis.
  • Participate in the generation of the daily/weekly/monthly production build plan and issues the plan to manufacturing.
  • Identifies schedule and line of balance to identify potential material flow interruptions (MFI’s).
  • Follows up on status of past due work orders.
  • Coordinate with Department Manager to develop policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

ABOUT THE JOB!

This position will oversee the receipt and movement of released work orders to all necessary production, inspection, and test areas as subassemblies or end items are manufactured. Provide inputs to shipment schedules, plans and forecasts as knowledge of production status develops. Identify any issues/bottlenecks in the production flow and ensure that necessary labor, material, or support is applied to relieve the issue. Reports daily production metrics.
