Overview
The production planner creates and manages production schedules to ensure materials, equipment, and labor are available to meet demand and customer needs. The production planner will coordinate with different departments to ensure timely production.
Responsibilities
- Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacturing.
- Creates and distributes work orders to production employees.
- Reviews applied labor and material for accuracy. Updates Eng Master based on actuals.
- Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
- Coordinates with Customer Service to establish shipping dates for customer orders.
- Works with department leads and plant manager to manage day to day production needs.
- Expedites operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Forecasts monthly production output and job completion.
- Verifies job status cards to ensure they are entered correctly.
- Verifies received materials and prints work orders, including day-before work orders.
- Issues and de-issues material.
- Checks MRP to schedule parts with demand.
- Reviews backlog for weekly planning meetings.
- Checks emails daily.
- Manages shop supplies and submits reorders to purchasing.
- Ensures everyone on the floor has work for the day.
- Works with purchasing agent on materials needs.
- Reviews inventory adjustments before submitting.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret part specifications or blueprints.
- Detail-oriented

- Organization skills
- Good verbal and communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel for reporting
- Working knowledge of MRP systems, Visual is a plus
Education And Experience
- High School Diploma/GED
- Five (5) years in manufacturing or supply chain role

Salary Range
- $27.00 - $33.00/Hour based on experience
