Job summary

SDI International is seeking a Production Planner in North Carolina to develop, implement, and optimize production schedules ensuring on-time delivery and efficient resource use.

You will collaborate across departments, analyze data, and drive improvements in throughput, downtime reduction, and capacity utilization. A BS in Supply Chain or related field and ERP/MRP experience are required.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years’ experience in Production Planning, Scheduling, or Supply Chain required.
  • Strong knowledge of production control principles, capacity planning, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency with ERP / MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Ability to analyze production data and identify trends to improve performance.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Cross-Department Coordination with Master Scheduling, Operation Execution, Manufacturing, Quality, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate schedule updates, priorities, and potential risks to stakeholders.
  • Assign cross-functional actions and drive to completion.
  • Monitor production processes to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze production workflows and recommend improvements to increase throughput, reduce downtime, and enhance resource utilization.
  • On-Time Delivery & Resource Optimization: Ensure products are delivered on schedule while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Optimize labor, equipment, and material usage to meet production goals.
  • Planning Metrics & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on key Planning metrics (OTB, ATB to ship, capacity utilization).
  • Use data-driven insights to recommend and implement process improvements.

Basic Qualifications

2-5 years’ experience in Production Planning, Scheduling, or Supply Chain required

Strong knowledge of production control principles, capacity planning, and inventory management.

Proficiency with ERP / MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics).

Ability to analyze production data and identify trends to improve performance.

Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.

Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or other related field preferred.

Experience with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

CPIM or CSCP certification preferred.

Familiarity with advanced planning and scheduling tools.
