Job summary

Quality Packaging Systems (Qual Pac) is seeking a Production Planner to orchestrate production flow from start to finish. You will plan, schedule, and monitor production lines to meet internal financial goals and customer delivery dates.

The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with Production, QA, Purchasing and Shipping/Receiving to sustain high accuracy and on-time performance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One year of experience in production control is required.
  • Experience in Supplynet is preferred.
  • Experience in Plex is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, prepares, issues and maintains production schedules and tracks material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
  • Schedules all production line, confirms material supply and demands, and prepares work orders or purchase requests based on a master production schedule.
  • Reviews and track internal status of inventory, aiming for high accuracy and timely schedule changes.
  • Works with internal teams to resolve scheduling issues and maintain high inventory accuracy.
  • Collaborates with Production, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, and Shipping/Receiving to achieve 99% inventory accuracy, 99% production rate and 99% ship/fill rate.

Production Planner

This position plans, schedules, coordinates and monitors the flow of products through the complete production cycle. This position also provides planning and scheduling of production lines to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates. The ideal candidate must have a bias for detail and exceeding expectations.

Hours: 8 am - 5 pm

Responsibilities
  • Plans, prepares, issues and maintains production schedules and tracks material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
  • Schedules all production line, confirms material supply and demands, and prepares work orders or purchase requests based on a master production schedule.
  • Reviews and track internal status of inventory. Requirement is 99% inventory accuracy. Participate in production meetings and communicate schedule changes in a timely manner.
  • Acts with internal teams to promptly resolve any scheduling issues and maintaining 99% inventory accuracy.
  • Works closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, and Shipping/Receiving. Goal is to maintain 99% inventory accuracy, 99% production rate and 99% ship/fill rate.
Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Analytical skills required for determining priorities, lead times, and production floor schedules
  • Ability to clearly express oneself verbally and in writing in the English language using good grammar and vocabulary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include strong presentation, project and organizational skills. Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus but not required.
  • Strong computer skills including operating Windows based personal computers and using Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel (intermediate level or higher)
  • Bias for results, goal oriented, and proven experience working with a team to achieve excellence.
  • Strong attention to detail skills.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One year of experience in production control is required.
  • Experience in Supplynet is preferred.
  • Experience in Plex is preferred.
