Job summary

E.S. Kluft & Company is seeking a Production Planner to manage strategic and tactical activities ensuring on-time delivery and inventory optimization. You will collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Marketing, and Customer Service to resolve constraints and maintain flow.

The role requires coordinating with shipping, procurement, and production teams, generating SAP orders, and leading production scheduling to meet customer commitments. Onsite in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree and/or relevant experience are desired; high school diploma required.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in production planning or materials control.
  • Basic knowledge of materials requirements planning (MRP) concepts.
  • Proficient with SAP and Microsoft Office; ability to operate in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop daily and weekly master-planned production schedules based on customer commitments.
  • Coordinate with shipping and production to meet on-time delivery.
  • Inform relevant departments of changes to production schedule.
  • Work with procurement to ensure necessary raw materials are in-house.
  • Monitor finished goods stock levels to meet commitments.
  • Generate SAP work orders and distribute them to the production floor.
  • Communicate daily activities to department leaders to keep everyone informed.
  • Analyze back orders and current orders to prioritize and schedule production operations.
  • Adjust production schedule in case of delays or interruptions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

The Production Planner is responsible for all strategic and tactical activities required to ensure delivery of customer commitments, operations & inventory optimization. Will monitor and maintain flow, schedule, and control of materials for all production programs in their area(s).

Production Planner collaborates with Production, Purchasing, Marketing, Customer Service, and other departments as required to identify and resolve constraints impacting customer delivery commitments.

6:30 AM-3:30 PM Overtime as needed per business needs

  • Develop daily and weekly Master-Planned Production schedules based on customer commitments.
  • Work with shipping and production to ensure production schedule meet on-time delivery commitments.
  • Promptly inform relevant departments of changes to published production schedule.
  • Work with the material procurement team to ensure all necessary raw materials are in-house to complete production schedules.
  • Monitor finished good stock levels to ensure commitments are met.
  • Generate SAP work orders in timely manner and distribute them to the production floor.
  • Communicate with departmental leaders about daily activities to help others within the organization remain in the loop and make educated decisions.
  • Maintains backlog of unit production, posts to Management Report.
  • Works with the Plant Manager in the production and delivery of Floor Samples and Finished Stock program.
  • Coordinates loads and routings with shipping supervisor.
  • Run various SAP and Business Warehouse reports and any other required reports.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Analyze back orders, current orders, and upcoming orders to prioritize, plan, and schedule the production operations.
  • Analyze delays and interruptions and accordingly adjust production schedule to meet deadlines
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed
Requirements
  • Associate degree and/or relevant experience are desired, high school diploma required.
  • At least 2 years’ previous experience in production planning or materials control function.
  • Basic knowledge and concepts of materials requirements planning (MRP) programs.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Acute attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must possess the ability to work well with little or no supervision and with a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, knowledge of SAP a plus.
  • Use required PPE Personal Protective Equipment: Safety Glasses and Safety Vest
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent and extended typing and sitting for 8+ hours
  • Occasional standing and walking
WORKPLACE & TRAVEL
  • This position works in a combination of an office setting and production floor setting.
  • Onsite role (no remote/hybrid option)
  • Travel is not required.
