Job description

The Chemical Production Planner/Scheduler ensures the efficient and timely production of chemical products. The role relies heavily on Microsoft Dynamics MRP to plan, schedule, track, and optimize production activities, supporting end-to-end production and supply chain visibility and contributing directly to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain short- and long-term production schedules in Microsoft Dynamics MRP to drive the SIOP plan on a 24-month horizon.

Adjust schedules based on changes in demand, inventory levels, or supply chain disruptions to ensure timely production with minimal downtime.

Use planned production orders to firm and consolidate new production.

Use Dynamics to monitor raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory.

Partner with the Inventory Manager to maintain optimal inventory levels by analyzing sales, usage trends, and safety stock.

Work with Procurement to ensure proper raw material supply and provide forecasts to suppliers.

Use planning parameters such as lead times, standard batch sizes, and production cycle times to develop a supply plan that meets the demand forecast and inventory targets.

Allocate raw materials, equipment, resources, and labor in Dynamics, in coordination with the Production Manager, to meet scheduling needs.

Partner with the Production Manager and Engineering to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality by reviewing MRP data to identify bottlenecks, delays, and opportunities in batch sizing and backend processing.

Develop and monitor KPIs with manufacturing, tracking and reporting schedule adherence, asset utilization, and production delays that affect customer orders.

Monitor raw material and purchased finished goods transactions using Dynamics PO tracking.

Ensure timely replenishment, proper lead times, and on-time delivery to eliminate production downtime.

Evaluate incoming sales orders against current inventory, planned production, and planned transfer orders.

Confirm or adjust ship dates using ATP and communicate feasible timelines to the Customer Success team.

When inventory is insufficient to meet the original delivery date, work with Sales and Customer Service to provide updated timelines and communicate clearly with customers.

Work closely with QC to ensure timely product release in support of sales orders.
