Job summary

Wieland Group in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Production Planner to coordinate detailed production schedules and ensure on-time customer delivery while optimizing production capacity and inventory levels. This role is fully onsite at our Buffalo site and offers a base salary range that reflects experience.

Responsibilities include developing schedules, leading production planning efforts, monitoring inventory, and driving continuous improvements across execution systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business or related field with 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing planning or supervision.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and work flow.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; manufacturing environment experience.
• APICS certification and/or Lean/Pull System Training recommended.

Wieland is hiring a Production Planner. The Production Planner will be responsible for planning workflow of production schedules to achieve customer delivery requirements, ensure efficient utilization of production capacities and manage inventory levels within targeted cost budgets. This role is located in Buffalo, NY and will be fully onsite.

Base Salary Range: $62,000-$80,000/year

Shift Schedule: Days

May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Responsibilities

Production Planner Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed production schedules to establish sequencing and lead time necessary to meet customer shipping commitments. Monitors, analyzes & reports performance to schedule to ensure successful execution and necessary counter measure implementation.
• Leads Manufacturing teams in production resource planning and support activities. Provides oversight of labor schedules, factory calendar and material requirements necessary to achieve master production schedule and efficiency targets.
• Maintains integrity and accuracy of Execution & Control systems via transactional monitoring and conformance reporting. Enhance these systems and other business tools through continual process improvements.
• Monitors and controls inventory levels to support customer demand and ensure alignment with master plans & business guidelines. Direct and oversees activities of physical inventory count and preparations, as well as continual process improvements.
• Develops skillset and cross-functional knowledge of the Organization, applied toward system level improvements that achieve Wieland NA (BU RA) performance targets in the key areas of service levels, inventory investments, and operational efficiencies.

Production Planner Qualifications:

• Degree in Business or related field with minimum of 3-5 years of experience or equivalent manufacturing planning or supervision experience. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Strong understanding pf manufacturing processes and work product flow.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with hands on experience in manufacturing environment.
• APICS certification and/or Lean/Pull System Training strongly recommended.
