Job summary

BlueScope North America in Wisconsin is seeking a Machine Operator to operate spray painter guns and dip tanks, shaping materials into high-quality components. You’ll load, feed, and unload material, set up equipment, and ensure proper paint thickness while maintaining safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Operate spray painter gun or dip tank to apply paint.
• Load, feed, and unload material through paint process.
• Set up equipment and select paint coatings.
• Clean and maintain paint application equipment.
• Perform quality checks on paint thickness and touch up as needed.
• Label and scan materials exiting the paint line and track paint/solvent usage.
• Participate in continuous improvement and corrective actions.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S practices.

What You’ll Do

• Operate spray painter gun or dip tank to apply industrial paint coating on material
• Load, feed, and unload material through paint process
• Select appropriate paint coatings and set up equipment to paint material
• Clean and maintain paint application equipment and machines
• Complete quality checks to ensure the correct thickness of paint is properly applied to material throughout the process and touch up as needed
• Ensure materials are properly labeled and scanned upon exiting paint line, and maintains records for paint and solvent usage
• Actively participates in continuous improvement and corrective action activities
• Perform housekeeping, 5‑S, and other duties as assigned
