Job summary

Altium Packaging in Sherman, TX seeks a Production Packaging Lead Associate III to oversee packaging of materials and finished goods, operate packaging equipment, and ensure GMP compliance. The role includes relief duties, line mentoring, and strong safety participation.

Requirements include 3+ years of related experience, advanced math and computer skills, and completion of Lead training. The position supports a team-based, fast-paced production environment with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirements include advanced mathematical skills and advanced computer experience.
  • Three or more years of equivalent experience including training/facilitating.
  • Completion of Altium Production/Packaging Lead training is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Relieve bagger and palletizer operator as needed on shift.
  • Operate and understand robots; complete changeovers if applicable.
  • Support Quality department and perform quality inspections when required.
  • Stand in for quality during the DMR when the quality lead is unavailable.
  • Demonstrate co-ownership in plant safety, quality and morale initiatives.
  • Lead packer on shift; mentor new employees on safety and processes.
  • Coordinate lunch breaks and breaks for all lines; assist with break relief.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Work Shift

12hr - C Shift 7p-7:30am Sherman SPLIT (United States of America)

The Production Packaging Lead Associate role applies intensive and diversified knowledge of proper packaging of materials and finished products. This position will also load and move material and operate packaging equipment. The Production Packaging Associate III role will also be required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices.

Responsibilities

In addition to Production Packaging Associate, I and II responsibilities, the Production Packaging Associate III role will include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Ability to relieve the bagger and the palletizer operator.
  • Operate and understand robot and complete changeovers (if applicable)
  • Able to help with quality when there are needs from the quality department.
  • Stand in for quality during the DMR if the quality lead is not available.
  • Demonstrates Co-Ownership in Plant Safety, Quality and Morale results by actively participating in Safety Committees, Pre-Shift Safety Meetings, FPY Improvement Teams, etc.
  • Designated as the Floater or lead packer on their shift, able to help with all lines and mentor new employees on safety and temp utility packers on assignments, safety, and quality.
  • Break reliever is able to assist and coordinate lunch breaks and breaks for employees in all lines
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Duties my differentiate by plant based on equipment and plant design.
  • Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.

Experience
  • Advanced mathematical skills are required.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
