Job description

Production Operator – Port Newark, NJ

We are looking to hire a Production Operator for our vegetable oil manufacturing facility. The operator is involved in daily operations on a 7‑day rotating shift, responsible for production and deliveries of refined vegetable oil, routine housekeeping, and basic maintenance repairs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate all stations within the production department, including deodorization, hydrogenation, interesterification, bleaching, blending and loading of tank wagons, railcars and packaging. Complete all required documentation and oil analysis.
• Complete all training requested.
• Assist the shift leader in tasks required to meet production schedules and deliveries.
• Assist other refinery operators as needed.
• Perform housekeeping support for the refinery, roads and grounds.
• Assist maintenance employees with their tasks.
• Use the forklift and other company tools and equipment safely.
• Perform designated minor maintenance tasks using hand tools.
• Communicate effectively with the shift supervisor regarding issues and problems.
• Maintain a clean and efficient worksite before and after each shift.
• Use the computerized work order system to submit work orders for the shift supervisor’s evaluation.
• Participate in company activities such as safety and audit committees, and task forces.
• Support the goal of minimum part sparing consistent with production goals and local vendor support services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

• Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills.
• 2–3 years of related experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
