Bakelite is seeking an Operator Trainee to help advance production of polymer resins and industrial chemicals in a fast-paced, safety-conscious plant environment in Conway, NC.

As part of a dynamic team, you will learn operations, monitoring equipment, and data entry tasks while adhering to all health, safety, and environmental guidelines. This entry-level role offers training and growth opportunities within a long‑standing, global company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating a forklift.
• Two+ years of continuous employment in the last four years preferred.
• One year or more in an industrial, warehouse, military, farming, construction, mechanical or production environment.
• One year or more of experience using a computer or tablet for data entry and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload raw materials and finished goods; participate in production training to operate and monitor polymer resins and industrial chemicals.
• Monitor equipment and perform minor troubleshooting to ensure optimal production and minimize downtime.
• Use a computer to document data such as shipping, receiving and manufacturing processes.
• Work in outside weather conditions as well as in an industrial setting, at heights and in confined spaces.
• Adhere to plant health, safety, and environmental guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
• Meet and exceed production goals while following a 24/7 shift schedule, including nights and weekends.
