Job summary

The Carlstar Group is seeking a manufacturing operator in Clinton, TN to run heavy equipment and prepare materials for production. The role involves following standard work, performing visual and dimensional inspections, and moving in-process materials to maintain efficiency.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year in manufacturing, and the ability to operate a forklift and communicate in English. Safety and quality are prioritized in this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year in a manufacturing/distribution operation preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting production and quality goals.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid forklift or equipment license as needed or required.
• Must read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy manufacturing equipment to produce materials to specification requirements.
• Learn and follow standard work for all areas as assigned.
• Evaluate products through visual and dimensional inspection techniques to ensure conformance to tolerance and specifications and address any quality concerns found.
• Organize, load and move in process materials and finished products as required to maintain expected efficiencies.
• Abide by all safety and quality specifications.
• Operate powered industrial vehicles.
• Check computer for production schedule and requirements for run(s).
• Set-up the machine according to specifications.
• Responsible for cleaning and some maintenance of the machine.
• Enter information into MRP system as required.
• Recognize when routine adjustments are necessary and identify errors at the earliest possible stage to minimize production rework.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
